We are currently seeking a Civil 3D Designer to join our Collingwood office. The successful candidate must be dedicated, dependable and detail oriented. The position involves providing assistance to Professional Engineers and other technical staff on a variety of engineering projects and working on design tasks using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011.
The preferred candidate will be a graduate of a civil engineering or technology program, with a minimum five years of civil design related experience, as well as the following qualifications/skills:
- computer excellence in AutoCAD Civil 3D with proven skills in surface building, point manipulation, alignments, corridors, pipe networks, subassemblies and plan production tools.
- experience in MS Office
- strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
The position will involve carrying out the following tasks:
- working with project managers and senior design staff on transportation and/or land development projects
- preparing AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 dynamic design models including road corridors, grading surfaces, pipe networks, and stormwater management facilities
- manipulation of Civil 3D models to generate detailed engineering drawings including plan, profile, and section drawings
- assist team leaders in engineering analysis including earthmoving volumetric calculations and preparing exhibits for technical communications and proposal documents
- proactively advance design and modeling techniques to support designers, project managers and technicians
- coordination of drawings with other design team members and sub consultants
- coordination of drawing filing
Burnside is seeking an engineering technician or technologist with two to five years experience to assist with multidisciplinary projects in our Wingham office. Applicants should be graduates of a civil engineering program, have excellent communication skills and adapt well to different working styles. Report writing skills and computer excellence in AutoCAD are mandatory requirements while experience with Civil 3D would be considered an asset. The successful applicant will be providing assistance to professional engineers and other technical staff on a variety of engineering projects, and will be working on design tasks using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, surveying, field inspections, and other general office assignments. The ideal candidate will be flexible, independent and willing to take on a variety of assignments. Although two to five years experience is preferred, recent graduates are also welcome to submit their resumes.
We are seeking a qualified (C.E.T. or P.Eng.) and detail orientated person with 4-8 years of design experience to join our Brampton office. As a practical designer, you will have the opportunity to work with municipal clients on civil infrastructure and transportation projects. You will be responsible for the production of preliminary and detailed design drawings and will be relied upon to prepare related reports, coordinate approvals, develop construction cost estimates, and liaise with clients, sub-consultants and contractors. Applicants should be graduates of a civil engineering program with a focus on infrastructure engineering. Report writing skills and computer excellence in AutoCAD are mandatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent communication and organization skills, with a good understanding of the Municipal approval and environmental assessment processes.
